Skate Aid Success For Excelsior

Back in early 2023, Excelsior was approached by WH Leisure, who were looking for a manufacturer to produce their range of market leading, roto moulded ice-skating aids.

After a successful sampling process, the customer placed a large order for a variety of skate aids, ready to supply UK indoor and outdoor rinks ahead of the Winter season.

In addition to the popular skate aids, WHL had been working on plans for the launch of a new product, the Olympia cart. The Olympia was based on the shape of a car, something that had never been offered to the market before. Excelsior contacted selected aluminium tooling companies both in the UK and in Europe, and after discussions with the customer it was decided that the order be placed with Monolution Limited.

Based in Havant, Hampshire, Monolution have an excellent reputation for manufacturing high quality CNC aluminium tooling for the roto moulding industry. Offering their expertise along with some CAD design assistance, WH Leisure were happy to sign off the drawings and around 10 weeks later we took delivery of the tool.

After running initial samples in a range of colours, it is fair to say that the customer was blown away by the quality of the tooling and final product. Orders have since been placed and samples sent out to numerous rinks throughout the UK in readiness for a very busy Winter season.

Following this initial success, the customer is already discussing plans for a further addition to the range.
