We have been working on a very large project with one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of pipes and fittings. The project involves the manufacture of a sizeable quantity of sheet steel tools which were produced by our Sister Company, Crossfield Excalibur Ltd, and large volume requirements for double skin roto moulded parts. The parts are complex and have taken time to develop, but the customer is absolutely delighted with the finished products and is currently stocking for a huge launch in September.
Giles Fielding, Excelsior MD, has commented “We first held initial meetings with the customer to review the product designs, and together with sister company Crossfield Excalibur, we worked closely with the customer to the point where they were happy with their final designs and a tooling order could be placed.
The tools are nearly all now in full production which is great news, we are working with a blue chip company and the volumes are large and consistent. The customer is more than happy with the end product and is in fact looking at adding further new products to the range soon.”
Why did they choose Excelsior’s roto-moulding services?
We have a long history of delivering results for these sorts of large-scale projects here at Excelsior. In all of our decades in operation, we’ve delivered quality plastic products for businesses large and small alike, from local SMEs to international market leaders such as this one. With experienced staff and cutting-edge equipment, we’re capable of delivering bespoke projects that exceed every expectation, always striving to maintain the fantastic standards we’ve become known for.
Additionally, pipes and fittings is one of the key sectors we serve. As a plastic manufacturing process, roto-moulding is perfectly suited to this purpose; this is partially because it uses centrifugal force to ensure that all plastic particles are evenly distributed, resulting in a reliably even wall thickness – an essential aspect of pipes and fittings.
A common material we use for this sector is Medium Density Polyethylene (MDPE), sometimes referred to as Linear Low Density Polyethylene (LDDPE). Hardy but cost-effective, it’s a versatile material that many customers find to provide the perfect balance between durability and price, making it a practical choice for many pipes and fittings applications.
You can see the full range of industries we serve over on our sectors page, or browse through our range of the most popular plastic products. Alternatively, if you’ve got an idea or vision for your own plastic product, you can count on our specialists to have all the knowledge and expertise to help you turn that vision into a reality.
