Excelsior match ball sponsorship – Bury FC vs Avro FC

January 23, 2026

On the 10th Jan we took 40 staff to watch the mighty Bury FC take on AVRO FC at the even mightier Gigg Lane. As match ball sponsors, we also got to try out the new facilities and the fantastic 1885 suite which didn’t disappoint.

The shakers have been through some very rough times but have well and truly come out the other side. Last season, they were promoted from the North West Counties Premier Division (Step 9) to the Northern Premier League West (Step 8) after winning the league and finishing with a 4-0 victory in front of an incredible 9000 fans. This marked a major step in their comeback after the original club’s expulsion from the league.

Our offices are only a few miles from the ground and many of our staff are supporters, so it was fantastic to be able to support our local club this way.

The match itself unfortunately ended in a 1-1 draw, Bury were by far the better side but just couldn’t make their possession count in the second half. They currently sit 3rd in the league, 6 points off the top and with high hopes of yet another promotion and a step up the ladder.

Our staff all had a fantastic day, it means a lot to everyone and to the club whose commercial team were kind enough to send us a lovely email after the game with some great feedback:

ET Clay 1885 Suite – Avro FC  – 10th January 2026

Everyone at Bury Football Club were delighted to welcome our Major Sponsors, Season Ticket Holders, Valued Business Partners, Regular Patrons and Visiting Guests to our E T Clay 1885 Suite for yesterday’s NPL West game, versus our Oldham based adversaries, Avro FC. Recent games against “The Ro” have always been highly competitive and combative affairs, and currently, with just two points separating the sides, yesterday’s top of the table clash between the second and third placed clubs was certainly not expected to be any different. Which is exactly how it turned out, with both sides settling for a point each, after a closely fought and even encounter; Lewis Rawsthorn’s first half header being cancelled out by The Vulcans second half equaliser from the penalty spot.

We were once again delighted to report that the new ET Clay 1885 Suite was totally sold out, and we would like to make special mention and offer our heartfelt thanks to Director, Jonny Fielding and his large team of guests from local based company, Excelsior Ltd., for their magnificent business support of our Football Club. Their generous Match Ball Sponsorship for yesterday’s game was enhanced by their forty guests, who also shared and helped to swell the numbers in our ET Clay 1885 Suite. Their group attendance was greatly appreciated, and we hope that everyone enjoyed their day with us.

As always, we are extremely grateful to our Match Day Supporters who so generously provide their financial backing and endorsement to our football club for our home games throughout the season.

Whether a lifelong Shakers fan or a first-time visitor to our football club, we hope that yesterday’s experience, (which, as always, we were delighted to share with you), exceeded your expectations and, that you might want to consider making a future return visit to Gigg lane? Our hospitality facilities, Starkies, ET Clay 1885 Suite and Eyelevel Sponsors Lounge are ideal venues for hosting family and friends for that memorable occasion, or, to invite business colleagues to share a special meal, followed by, an afternoon, or evening, watching the Shakers in action. Please contact us on, commercial@buryfc.co.uk, or Tel. 0161 537 9253 for further details, of our Match Day Sponsorship and Match Ball Packages.

We cant wait to head back to Gigg Lane again later in the season.
