Investing in Our Future: New Machinery and Facilities at Excelsior Ltd

As part of our drive to offer our customers quicker lead times, we have recently invested £300,000 in a new three-station, three-metre shuttle machine manufactured by local company GM Modular. This state-of-the-art equipment has revolutionised our production capabilities and enhanced our efficiency.

Meeting Growing Demands

With strong sales performance across each of our sectors, we felt it was essential to add a further machine rather than continue to operate at maximum output. The addition of the shuttle machine takes us to eight machines and gives us even more flexibility to produce products of all shapes, sizes, and complexity. This investment is a testament to our commitment to meeting our customers’ needs and improving our service.

It had also become clear that we needed to expand our grit bin manufacturing capability, with sales across the range continuing to grow year on year. The new shuttle machine is already giving us the opportunity to put much-needed additional stock down, which in turn reduces customer lead times. The early winter weather was perfect for us, and the extra stock holding proved to be invaluable.

Enhancing Our Storage Facilities

Speaking of stock, we have also invested in a 20m x 10m Spacio Tempo building, which is worth its weight in gold! We don’t have the largest site and, with the machine churning product out, we urgently needed space for additional stock, predominantly for grit bins but also for materials handling and equestrian products. We installed a large mezzanine within the building, and it’s hard now to see how we managed without it! This additional space has significantly increased our storage capacity and operational efficiency.

2024 has been a very busy year, and as always, we want to thank our amazing customers, suppliers, and of course, our fantastic staff. Their dedication and hard work have been instrumental in helping us achieve these milestones.
