Protec’s Company Background and Vision
Bruce, please tell us about the history of Protec Boxing and how it all began?
Protec was Formed over 30 years ago by M.D Neil Fagan and has gone from strength to strength over the year from manufacturing 47 boxing rings in 2018 when I started at Protec to almost 200 last year – and currently on target to blow that figure out of the water this year with over 80 sold to date!

How has the company evolved over the years, and what are some of the key milestones?

Can you discuss any past challenges you faced with equipment, and how you addressed them?
We’ve constantly faced challenges – but as the leader in the market we must rise to these challenges, so spend a lot of time on improving in any aspect we can.
We always look to take on board all feedback we receive from customers, in the aim to stay the leading supplier in the UK.
Customer service is our focus – we can’t always get it right, and mistakes happen – however I believe how we react to this is what keeps our customers happy and return year on year.

What factors influenced your decision to purchase heavy-duty steps from Excelsior Ltd?
Quality of the product – the aesthetic look – moving away from traditional bulky heavy metal and wooden steps – that take long to manufacture and look extremely old fashioned.

The steps are solid and robust so don’t have to work about steel steps that are unbalanced and wobble.

No sharp edges – no splinters from wood etc.
